Weather update: it is intensely windy and rainy today in Rabat, Morocco, conditions that you have to physically battle against as you try to walk down the street. This is a reading inside day, a watching Netflix day, a reorganizing my meager belongings day.
During a break in the rain, my AirBnB host walked over to the guesthouse I’m staying in with toast and jam, because she is the nicest person in the world. “The weather!!” Sandrine exclaimed in heavily acccented English, as wind whipped through the yard.
Her cat, Coco Chanel, looked full of regret that she had followed Sandrine outside but as she lurked at my door, she knew that she might get a shot at the food. I’m an easy target.
Coco and I agreed that she should not eat the butter, and the marmalade disinterested her. But after appraising the available blankets, she has decided to make herself comfortable here. I’m not sure what the appropriate amount of time is before I have to return this borrowed cat, but I really hope her adorable tiny kitten sneaks over first.
